General Description of Job:
Responsible for procuring and maintaining raw material inventory and supplies to meet short- and long-term manufacturing demands.
Interact with Management, Manufacturing, Sales, Suppliers and Customers.
Analyze inventory and provide detailed reports.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities (Note, activities that occupy approx.
80% of time):
Review and manage submitted Sales Orders.
Assemble Job Folder information:
create job tickets, allocate films and adhesives.
Schedule new orders prioritizing optimal efficiency and on-time delivery.
With input from the Production Supervisor, schedule similar jobs together for maximum efficiency.
Select/allocate specified materials to ensure functionality while minimizing waste and maximizing efficiency.
Daily, deliver list of upcoming jobs to presses and laminators.
Communicate any critical needs.
Communicate with customer service to ensure customer requests are met - e.
g.
, press approvals, quantities, and ship dates - while communicating with production management jobs that are unusual or that require specific machines or special attention.
Update critical information in a timely manner if sales orders change/are found to be in error.
Release raw materials from offsite warehouse as needed and update pallet tags to enable allocation.
Receive shipments from suppliers and warehouse and tag/allocate appropriately.
Process POs for required plant supplies including ink, buckets, sticky back, blades, etc.
Review major pieces of business to ensure we have materials and supplies available to execute in full.
Work closely with purchasers, outside warehouse, and Material Handlers to ensure we have materials and supplies available per schedule.
With plant leadership, ensure ship dates are met.
Communicate with and direct plant management, purchasers and Customer Service on any materials related issues impacting a customer delivery date.
Respond to email requests in a timely manner.
Ensure SQF procedures are followed and updated as processes change.
Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities (Occupies balance of time):
Manage Quarterly Raw Material Inventory counts for plant and outside warehouse.
Obtain solvent inventory data monthly.
Review and provide month-ending ink data usage.
Ensure inventory levels meet corporate objectives.
Practices FIFO and effective stock rotation.
Administer the SCAR process for non-conforming materials.
Find use for slow-moving material inventories (e.
g.
, specified material with widths outside spec) with input from Production Supervisor.
Work on system and workflow enhancements for Scheduling Systems to improve/automate information needs, including implementation of new or modified Scheduling Software.
Participate in Continuous Improvement activities to support the plant's performance.
Provide backup support to other plant functions as demands require.
Physical Job Demands:
Position spends majority of time at desk using a computer and telephone.
It also requires walking, meeting and communicating with production, sales, customer service and management.
Minimal strenuous activity.

Experience using computers a must.
High School diploma - OR equivalent GED.
Experience with scheduling programs preferred.
